The Cereria Migone waxworks was founded in 1866 by Eugenio
Migone and has been handed down from father to son for five
generations. Today it is a leader in the production of candles
for churches and over the years it has developed its production
and manufacturing processes in step with the latest technology
in order to satisfy all market demands.
At the beginning of
the 1900's it was Italy's exclusive manufacturer of "Candor" soap powder and solid "FULGOR".
The factory was requisitioned by the German army
during the Second World War and forced to produce margarine
and lard for Germany. The manufacturing plant was originally
situated in an old quarter of Florence near to the Arno River
but during the flooding of '66 it was submerged under 3 m.
of water and this accelerated the owners' decision to relocate
to their present base in Scandicci. At the beginning of a
challenging new millennium the company has decided to renew
its business commitment with a new production
centre. continued>>> |
